Ulendo Supercharges Flashforge’s Model Lineup

Ulendo’s vibration compensation software triples the speed of Adventurer 3 Pro 2 and quadruples the speed of Adventurer 4 Pro.

ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN, UNITED STATES, June 19, 2023 - In their summer launch event this month, Flashforge announced the availability of the Adventurer 4 Pro which prints 4x times the speed of the earlier version of the printer. The increase in standard speed from 50 mm/sec to 200 mm/sec is driven by the implementation of Ulendo’s vibration compensation software, Ulendo VC. In addition to the speed improvement, Ulendo’s advanced compensation algorithms have increased the printer’s max acceleration from 2,000 mm/sec2 to 10,000 mm/sec2.

Ulendo's VC is also responsible for the 3x increase in speed of Flashforge’s new version of Adventurer 3 Pro 2. The new version of the printer now achieves speeds of 200 mm/sec, a tremendous improvement over the previous 60 mm/sec for the previous version of the printer. Ulendo VC is also powering the 5x acceleration of the new version of the printer, allowing users to achieve up to 10,000 mm/sec2 of acceleration.

Even more amazing is that the combination of Ulendo VC and high speed nozzle kits bring the max speed of Adventurer 4 Pro to 300mm/sec.

Flashforge is also extending this speed upgrade to their existing customers and rolling out a new software update which will target existing customers for their Adventurer 4 and Adventurer 3 model lines. With this new supercharged Ulendo VC update, users can expect to see anywhere from a 50-75% reduction in their print times. This clearly demonstrates Ulendo’s ability to leverage a software-driven approach to add value to our clients and their end users.

Some 3D printer manufacturers have improved the speed of their printers by employing another vibration compensation technique called “input shaping.”  What sets Ulendo’s approach apart is that it does not suffer from the corner rounding issues users typically see with input shaping. And, unlike input shaper’s generic approach, Ulendo VC is optimized for the particular printer model on which it is implemented, thereby improving print quality and reducing build failures.

Ulendo offers their game-changing software innovation to manufacturers of extrusion-based 3D printers, and last quarter adapted it to be retrofitted to 3D printers already in use at 3D printing service bureaus or contract manufacturers.

Ulendo VC is the first in a series of software innovations being developed by the company to accelerate the adoption of additive manufacturing by improving speed and quality of 3D printers.  In the works is also software to reduce distortion that plagues LPBF (laser powder bed fusion) printers, control extrusion and provide predictive analytics.
